Products

All of my images are available as framed or unframed prints or ready to hang canvas, either as open editions or limited editions of 50 prints. The size that each image can be printed depends on the aspect ratio of the print and the quality of the original file, simply click on the cart icon to see what size the image can be printed. But which product should you get?

Prints

Prints are great to hold, I quite enjoy flicking through the collection of prints that I keep in a portfolio box. That textile feel of the paper in your hands and the ability to hold it close to see the glory of the image without glare is a lovely way to enjoy my work. My prints are made using a Epson 4800 inkjet printer on semi gloss photo paper. This printer uses pigment inks (akin to what da Vinci used on the Mona Lisa) so a properly stored print will last hundreds of years without fading. I like to print on my own printer as it gives me complete control over my imaging process from start to finish and if I get a print I don’t like, it’s easy to adjust and print another.

All prints come with my signature digitally printed onto the image, limited editions come with the print number printed onto the left side of the image. Prints will have a different ‘look’ to what you see on the screen, firstly if your screen is not calibrated then your screen may not show the image to you faithfully. The second reason for seeing a difference is that a computer screen is back lit while a print is front lit. Nevertheless my aim is to create a pleasing print and if you are not happy with the outcome you can return it for a full refund.

Framing

I offer framed prints so that you can purchase a piece of art that is ready to hang in your home or office. There are thousands of options when it comes to framing, my standard frames are a simple black wood frame with a 6cm white mat around the image (two mats for A2 and panoramic images). A frame is the best way to display your image, I mount the image so that it can expand and contract within the frame (this happens because of temperature and humidity changes) so that it won’t warp. I also frame my images so that they will be properly preserved by using archival mounting methods.

My frames are designed to show the image in all it’s glory, without distraction. However you might want something that matches your decor or personal tastes, in this case get in touch with me using the contact form so we can arrange something that suits your needs. Choosing the right frame is hard and you might just need to see the available options layed out in front of you to be able to make a decision. In this case, simply purchase a print and take it to your local framer.

Canvas

Canvas prints are very popular and I can see why. They have a great texture to them and I love how they look on the wall. They are also very competitive price-wise, I don’t print these myself but after much searching I finally found a lab that will print a high-quality canvas that will last for years. A great thing about canvas is that because there isn’t any glass in front of the image you don’t see any reflections. There is one down side however, the nature of the canvas means that the dynamic range of the image isn’t as good as a print. This means that the highlights of the image won’t be as bright and the shadows won’t be as deep but this isn’t really apparent unless you look at a canvas and a print of the same image side by side.

My canvas prints come stretched and ready to hang. I use a ‘mirror wrap’ so that the edges of the canvas are a mirror of the main image so that you don’t lose important parts of the image over the edge. Stretched canvas seem to float off the wall and look very cool, the textured nature of the canvas means that I can print them a bit larger than I would a print without a noticeable loss of detail.
